Let's Play Games

Okay, this is a topic that I can't wait to finally talk about. I am now able to record Minecraft and other video games with sound and video, and then edit them. It's taken a while for me to be able record Let's Plays with quality. I figured that if I just recorded and uploaded a butt load of bad quality videos, no one would want to watch, so I'm making them good quality. I'm going to try and let's play minecraft maps and mods that haven't been over used. (Besides Vechz maps) Minecraft is really the only reason that I'm a gamer now. That is my favourite game and because it's what I play the most, it's what videos will be about often. I'm also thinking about making various steam game videos. It would be short series of some of the games I think are fun. Since I am part of the Tribes Ascent beta, I figure that I'll post a few videos of that, considering that it's insanely fun to play. I got the beta key thanks to Spencer Williams from the Dead Workers Party. I think that there will be more videos being uploaded now.

It's Been a While...

Hey guys, I haven't posted in a while, but there are a few things that I want to talk about. My birthday was Oct. 1st and I did end up getting a new computer. It's incredibly epic looking and working.
Here are the specs:

  • 2.8 Quad Core processor
  • 1GB graphics card (Not sure what the model is, but it's Invidia)
  • 1TB hard drive
  • 2, 5BG rams sticks (Slots for 4 total sticks)
That's about it, but I've played a lot of minecraft and other games on it. I've started to record videos for minecraft, but they haven't been good quality. I'm hoping to get FRAPS and the basic Sony Vegas for Christmas. Other things I asked for have been Mario Kart 7, Mario 3D Land, and The Sims 3.

I've tried doing a minecraft Christmas series, but I haven't been able to upload due to the 6-7 hour uploads. It's total crap that that is happening and I'm hoping that Vegas and FRAPS will help me get better quality and shorter uploads. I can't upload a video during the time I'm on my computer, so I've uploaded one video while I was at school one day, but it didn't really work. I think I'm not going to record or upload any more of the series I started because it's Christmas Eve's Eve and I wanted to finish it by the end of the month.

This is getting to be a long post, but I'm just going to keep rambling because I haven't for a while. A while ago the first 3DS ambassador NES games came out. There were a few good ones, but there were a few that were crap. NES Open Golf really wasn't too good. Wrecking Crew wasn't too good either. Zelda, Yoshi, Mario, and Metroid were very fun however. All together I enjoyed it a little, but they could've chosen better games. The new 3DS ambassador GBA games came out and I cant thing of a game on the list that I didn't like. My least favourite game was probably Mario vs. DK because I had just bought the DSIware game from Club Nintendo. I've played a ton of Wario Land 4 and Fire Emblem. Also I have just started playing Zelda Minish Cap and I got pissed at myself because I turned it off before remembering to save, so I when and played Wario Ware Inc.: Mega Mircogames$ and It was pretty good. That's about all I have to talk about right now.

Looking forward

Considering all the recent speculation of the new Minecraft patch 1.8 I thought I'd talk about it a little. 1.8 will be introducing incentives to go explore the land, such as abandon mine shafts, larger dungeons, and NPC villages. First with the abandon mine shafts. you can find these in most places above ground (not sure about below the ground) and it will look like someone dug there with TNT and had to place wooden planks as support beams. There also will be mine cart tracks. (Not sure about pressure plate tracks, booster tracks, and mine carts) In them there will be a new mob that will only spawn there currently named the blue spider which can poison you which is like being on fire only it will do less DPS. Next are larger dungeons which I expect to have mob spawners only instead of a room, I think it will be a lot of corridors taking you to other rooms. If you've played the Aether mod it would be similar to the bronze dungeon only bigger. THAT IS ONLY WHAT I THINK IT WILL BE, I HAVE NOT PLAYED THE 1.8 DEMO FOR LARGER DUNGEONS. Next is the NPC villages, if you have played the Millenare mod it should be similar.

The new way of gaming for me

I don't know why but gaming has been dying for me lately on the PC, so my solution is to go outside, go on the Wii, Or the 3DS. Mostly I've been heading outside to help out and I bring my 3DS with me so I can pop out Metroid when I need to. But with my current computer (No new one) I've not been able to play a lot of games that I wan't to because this game really should have any games. Well off to play some MMOs :D

Info about my Minecraft LP and computer problems

I love minecraft and Let's Playing. I have not been able to record anything with quality. If I were to record Minecraft I would have around 10 FPS. If I were to record console games I would have Okay frames, but crappy quality and the audio wouldn't be synced. I would have tons of videos up if I could make quality content. When I do make the LP I plan on uploading daily. Just the reason right now is the computer I am running every thing on is not that good. 1.0 dual core processor with integrated graphics from what I know. I'm trying to find a good deal that I can strike with my parents so that I might get a new computer for my birthday if I chip in half or more. I found an okay $350 computer, but I would need to buy an $80 graphics card. My brother is helping me and he found a computer that was $500 that had a 1GB graphics card already in it. It also had a processor about twice as good as the one I found. Total expenses it would be about $70 more so I'm trying to push for the $500 one because it would last alot longer for gaming. Thanks for reading.

3DS update! And about time too!

I've been entranced with the new 3DS update that added the browser and the e shop. I got Super Mario Land with out even thinking about it, then pondered about what else I should get. I checked out some list and I saw this game called Dark Void Zero. The video was informative so I gave the game a try. It's really fun but pretty hard. You should pick up both those games plus the LoZ Link's awakening.

Pilotwings Resort Review

So today I'll be looking at Pilotwings Resort. You'll start off by making a character card by choosing a mii then naming and signing your card. Then you get to try out all 3 of the flying vehicles, The Rocket Belt, The Plane, and The Hang Glider. The Rocket Belt is like a jet pack that lets you fly upward, but has limited gas. The Plane keeps a constant speed and it has a boost that will give you a limited speed boost. The Hang Glider is my favorite. It's totally the most fun to use because it take real skill to dive down and then hit the upward drafts to get you altitude higher. Then you can choose from 5 classes. The training class is open at first and you need to get a good score on most of the level (or missions) to get to the next class and you keep going. The missions are just as innovative as in Pilotwings 64. In one level you'll be flying from the top of Wuhu Island to the beach in just a few seconds on the hang glider than on another level you'll be flying the plane carrying water to put out fires. The variety never ends. At the point of writing this review I've made it all the way to the final class which is pretty difficult. After every level you'll be rated from no stars to 3 stars. It's very hard to get 3 stars on every mission in the game so good luck with that. The only class I can get all 3 stars on is the Training class, which is too easy. Next you have the Free flight mode which lets you fly all over Wuhu island to your hearts content. The only problem I have with that is the fact that your timed while doing it so you won't have much time unless you unlock it from playing a lot of Free Flight. The graphics are beautiful in this game. The 3-D in this game is kinda distracting so I don't use it too much but it works wonders. You could be lying in bed and actually feel your flying over Wuhu island. Also they have a place where you can see what you unlocked from all the collectables you find in free flight. This game is addicting and you will find hours of your time flying over wuhu. This game is a must buy for anyone who has a 3DS. Enjoy flying for hours on end.
